What happens next

Responsibilities
  • Attend all assigned lessons and classes in-person, in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, supervise, and instruct students in music theory, practice, and performance with focus on the student's goals (including enjoyment, exams, concerts, etc.).
  • Teach online from home if the School must close to the public due to national emergencies, etc.
  • Participate in YBM community events such as student term-end concerts, outdoor festivals, outreach, etc.
  • Complete all digital admin necessary to the operation of the School's business as it relates to the students or the instructor, including but not limited to: scheduling, upcoming events, student progress/attendance, etc. (most processes are automated).
  • Act, speak, and dress professionally and personably while at work.
  • Cover for other instructors on days in which they are absent (including same-day shift coverage).

Must-haves
  • Experience on one-ideally two-of: voice, piano, guitar, drums
  • Availability on weekday evenings
  • Ability and initiative to sporadically cover shifts on certain days of the week
  • Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (if of-age)
  • Ability to travel weekly to at least one of our locations
Preferred
  • Expertise on more than two instruments
  • Prior experience teaching music in a similar setting
  • Professional education/qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Experience working with children
